General Aviation
A breakdown of general aviation activities, focusing on procedures and "The Aviation Act 2023" directives.
When piloting an aircraft in FiveM, you'll notice essential information presented on your HUD (Heads-Up Display). This data ensures you fly safely, abiding by the game's aviation rules and procedures. Here's a breakdown:
Area Code: This displays the specific region or sector you're currently flying over. For example, if you're over Los Santos, it might display an associated code. Recognizing these codes is crucial for communicating with ATC and understanding your location relative to key landmarks or zones.
AGL (Above Ground Level): This value indicates your current altitude in relation to the ground directly below your aircraft. It's especially vital during takeoffs, landings, and when flying over varying terrains. Remember, there are restrictions on how low you can fly AGL unless you're in the process of taking off or landing.
ASL (Above Sea Level): This shows your altitude relative to the sea level, providing a consistent frame of reference no matter the terrain below. Specific zones like Los Santos have ASL altitude requirements which you should always be aware of and adhere to.
Speed (in km/h): This denotes how fast your aircraft is moving in kilometers per hour. Maintaining a proper speed is essential for various flight stages and ensuring your aircraft's stability and efficiency.
It's crucial to always keep an eye on these HUD readings, as they provide real-time data about your flight status. They're not just numbers; they're essential tools ensuring you navigate the skies of FiveM safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all game guidelines.

Planes
Takeoff Procedure:
Directional Guidelines: Aircraft should primarily take off in an easterly direction. Exception: For the 3rd runway at Los Santos International Airport, aircraft should take off towards the north and land from the south.
Landing Gear: Ensure the landing gears are up once airborne.
ATC Approval: Before initiating takeoff, seek approval using the command
/atc AIRP(replace 'AIRP' with the relevant area code).Radio Communication: On radio channel 11, clearly state your callsign and request takeoff, ensuring the runway is clear.
Landing Procedure:
Directional Guidelines: Landings should primarily be approached from the west direction.
Exception: For the 3rd runway at Los Santos International Airport, aircraft should take off towards the north and land from the south.
Landing Gear: Ensure the landing gears are down before touchdown.
ATC Approval: Prior to landing, get clearance using
/atc AIRP.Radio Communication: On radio channel 11, announce your callsign and request landing, verifying the runway's availability.
Helicopters
Takeoff & Landing Procedure:
No Fixed Direction: Helicopters are not bound by specific directional guidelines for takeoff and landing.
Location Approval: Ensure the chosen landing spot is sanctioned as per the Aviation Act.
Safety Checks: The landing area must be safe, unoccupied, and pose no hazards.
Radio Communication: Even though it's not directional, it's good practice to communicate intentions on radio channel 11 for situational awareness.
Taxiing:
Upon landing and once you have safely slowed your aircraft, it's crucial to exit the runway as promptly and efficiently as possible. Remaining on the runway poses a risk to other incoming or departing aircraft and disrupts the flow of air traffic.
Parking:
Clear & Suitable Location: When selecting a parking spot for your aircraft, ensure it's in a location that does not obstruct other aircraft or hinder their movement.
Runway Clearance: All runways must remain clear at all times. Even if you're just stopping momentarily, never park or leave your aircraft on a runway. Always taxi to an appropriate location away from the active runways.
Respecting Other Aircraft: Be mindful not to box in another aircraft, making it difficult or impossible for them to depart. Always anticipate the needs of other pilots and leave ample space for them to maneuver.
Remember, the primary goal is to maintain the smooth operations of the airfield, ensuring that all players can enjoy a realistic and efficient flying experience. Always act considerately, keeping in mind the wider community and the flow of air traffic.
Definition of Regions:
Los Santos: Defined as the densely populated metropolitan area located on the southern side of the island, including Vinewood Hills. This urban zone encapsulates everything up to and including the Vinewood Hills.
Blaine County: Areas beyond Vinewood Hills are recognized as Blaine County in the eyes of Air Emu.
Height Restrictions in Los Santos:
Planes: Within the confines of Los Santos, planes must maintain an altitude of at least 350 ASL (Above Sea Level). The only exceptions for going below this altitude are during takeoff and landing operations.
Helicopters: Helicopters operating in the Los Santos area should remain at or above 250 ASL, with deviations allowed only during the takeoff and landing phases.
General Altitude Restrictions Across the Island:
Regardless of the specific region:
All aircraft are required to keep a universal minimum operational altitude of 100 AGL (Above Ground Level). Descending below this altitude is permissible only during takeoff or landing.
Exemptions:
Government aircraft are exempt and can freely operate without adhering to these height limitations.
Staying Informed:
As an aircraft owner or pilot operating within the OzzyGaming environment, you have an inherent responsibility to stay informed. The cornerstone of this duty is the Aviation Act 2023, a comprehensive document that sets the standards for safe and lawful air operations.
Understanding the Act:
Every pilot must thoroughly familiarize themselves with the Aviation Act 2023. This is not just a recommendation β it's an expectation. This act serves as the primary guideline for all air-related activities and ensures the safety and efficiency of our skies.
Staying Updated:
Laws and regulations can change. It's crucial to keep up to date with any amendments or updates to the Aviation Act. Being unaware or claiming ignorance is not an excuse. Failing to adhere to the latest rules can lead to severe consequences, including the potential revocation of your pilot's license.
Feedback & Suggestions:
We understand the evolving nature of aviation and encourage our community to contribute. If you believe there are aspects of the guide that need enhancement or new information, join the Air Emu Discord and share your insights. Your feedback helps us ensure that our aviation community remains well-informed and operates safely.
Remember: Knowledge empowers you. Familiarize, stay updated, and engage. This is the hallmark of a responsible pilot.
